The Hottest Spring 2017 Jewelry Trends
Spring 2017 is offering a diversity of trends; there is something for everyone no matter what the age-generation. At Silverscape Designs, we have chosen some of our favorites to allow you to feel refreshed and inspired to express yourself this season.
1. The 90’s Are Back
The 90’s are still playing an influence on the choker trend in 2017. This winter we saw fabric chokers, like velvet, playing a big role in fashion. Now, with the warmer days there is going to be a shift in material. Thin sterling silver or gold chokers are lightweight and perfect for layering with different styles and length necklaces. This look will be seen on the streets to the beach. Anna Beck, by designer Becky Hosmer, is one of our favorite designers for layering. Her designs incorporate summer-toned gemstones, like turquoise, blue lapis and moonstone, creating the perfect balance of color verse metal.
2. The Modern Pearl
The pearl, a foundation in wardrobes for centuries now is remaking its way back into fashion. It is true, pearls never go out of style; and this spring, designers like Mizuki Goltz, offer a modern twist on the pearl. The Mizuki Collection blends sophistication with a feminine yet bold edginess. Since 1996, when Mizuki first launched her collection, she has been leading in re-creating and incorporating the pearl into a modern appeal. Her eye for pearls allows her to create pieces that are fashioned in a more versatile look than the classic pearl strand.
One of her most unique designs is the pearl pendant delicately placed on organic colored leather cords.
At Silverscape Designs, we carry her open-cuff style of necklaces, bracelets and rings.
3. Power of the Pendant
The power of the pendant is taking a “more is more” approach this spring. Malak Atut, designer of ZAIKEN Jewelry collection, crafted in NYC offers unique pendants. In 2016 Malak was awarded the Women's Jewelry Association Dazzle Diva Award, for Best in Daywear/Business Wear. Her creative vision is shown through the reality of her pieces, featuring organic designs including natural tanzanite paired with multi shaped diamond detailing.
4. The More The Merrier
Express your true self on your wrist with the bracelet-layering trend. Pairing multiple styles, sizes, designs and metals together allows for an individualistic accessory. The Ed Levin collection offers simplistic sterling silver bracelets that are perfect for pairing with bolder designs and metals.
"I've said this so many times, but I keep coming back to this: Trends come and go. Own them and make them your own. If it doesn't feel right, then don't feel like you need to dress a certain way just to be trendy." - Nina Garcia, Colombian fashion journalist and critic
